Where in the World is Hunter Going?

Shortly after Elder Gundersen submitted his paperwork for his LDS Mission, his sister Dawni created a group on Facebook for everyone to take a stab at guessing just where Elder Gundersen would be serving.  Some of the guesses were as follows:

Canada
Minnesota
Tonga
Bangkok
Australia
Anaheim CA
DC South
DC North
Rapid City SD
Zimbabwe
Kenya
Norway
Denmark
Georgia
Peru
Finland
Sweden
Little Rock AR
Mexico
So. Africa
Hawaii
Russia, Moscow
Detroit MI
Washington State
Guangzhou China
Japan
Alaska
Oklahoma
Oregon
S America
Venezuela
Boston MA
Texas
Fiji
NYC!
Ireland
Poland
Alabama
New Zealand
Chile
Argentina
Las Vegas
North Carolina
Louisiana French speaking
Brazil

Imagine our surprise when Elder Gundersen opened his call on October 5, 2011 and read, "You have been assigned to labor in the Benin Cotonou Mission."    Imagine Elder Gundersen saying it something more like this..the Beeneen Cotow-now...I have no idea where I'm going!

As we were first time mission parents, we were unaware of the map on the following page so...off to the smartphones we all went.  Which by the way...none of us thought to video this experience with any of these smartphones...proves just because you own a smartphone, it doesn't make you any smarter!!

AFRICA!  It's in AFRICA!  (Mom now standing in complete shock!)

French speaking too. Who would've thought? Although we had a few Africa guesses, no one thought of Benin Cotonou.  Incidentally, the Benin Cotonou mission was created in July of 2011. It was previously part of the Ivory Coast mission.
