Heading to the Dark Continent

Elder Gundersen traveled to the Benin Cotonou mission on March 28, 2013.  We enjoyed the calls home that day.  We were able to hear from him at the SLC airport, the JFK airport and then again in the early a.m. hours from Paris, France. There is nothing better for a Mom than to hear the familiar voice from the phone of their beloved Elder.  It was so great to hear the excitement in his voice.  It was even harder to say goodbye each time. That part doesn't get any easier with time.

These are the really cool chairs in the airport in Paris where the Elders spent the night.

Cool skylights

Getting a few winks in before the final leg of the flight to Benin.

We were happy to receive word that he finally made it to the mission home after 30+ hours of travel time.  This picture was taken with President and Sister Weed shortly after his arrival.  He doesn't look a bit tired...Looks a bit like a zombie.

Seems like a nice place for a nap.  He was able to rest a bit and get something to eat at the mission home. After some, training he was off to his new apartment in Tokoin- Lome`, Togo.

The view of the city on the way to Togo.  Lots of motos on the road.
